Google offers the option to display personalized search results in the “more” submenu.
You must be logged in to your google account to “benefit” fully from it because it then displays images or Gmail messages that correspond to the query entered directly related to your data.
At first glance, nothing exciting about it:
- There is increased use of your personal data
- The results are less universal, you probably miss out on relevant results.
(but I could be wrong)
It’s Jessica Grammer who mentions this new search page menu in the “plus” that already displayed: Shopping, books, flights.
The word “Personal” therefore enriches the option bar of the SERP.
The queries processed in this way return results from the databases of different engines that correspond to you, (e.g. photos or G+ messages).
Olivier Andrieu, who relays this information (illustration next to it is his) reminds us that most of the data comes from search engines that are already displayed on the first page of the SERP depending on the type of queries, the only advantage being that these results are systematically displayed.
We will add the observations of Divyesh Parmar who mentions that It is also a new place to display Adwords…
This feature is available on google.ca in English but not yet in service on google.ca in French.
It won’t be long before it happens.
