Without a grandiloquent introduction, I write this short article of seven simple tips following the conversations I regularly have with my clients both in training and SEO coaching. These are good practices to use if you have forgotten them or to take if you did not know them. Isn’t your goal the first page of Google?
1. Blog regularly and spread the word
According to a study related to this infographic published on digital-muscle,
52% of Internet users are influenced by a blog article before buying a good on the web, 57% of new consumers acquired on a commercial site arrive from a blog…
Admit that it’s easier to blog a little “fresh article” every two weeks than to produce new founding pages to the glory of your company (although one does not prevent the other).

2. Distribute your articles.
If your blog is the engine of your Web content, the dissemination of its relayed content is the accelerator.
Need we remember that spreading your news on social networks, content aggregators causes a spike in visits that cannot harm your ego or the health of the site.
Whether you are active on social networks or not, you must play the card of disseminating your content via their media.
- Virality,
- influx of visits,
- Follower acquisition,
- reputation
- content marketing,
… There is no shortage of good reasons.
What media?
Each profession has its own, from the very professional linkedIn to the very celebrity but versatile Facebook, including those of networking or specialized, (Flickr, viadéo, instagram, etc) there are bound to be some platforms adapted to your sector of activity, your target audience, your prospects or influence groups.
Google business
On this subject, there is a lot of denigration (and I’m not the last to do so) Google plus and its “business” counterpart.
Indigestible interface, underactivity, real under-traffic, it is nevertheless a must whose relationship with your site is so tight (Publisher tag, G+ button, console, Analytics, Adwords, ) that it is a real mistake not to integrate it into your distribution circle.
Distributing an article doesn’t take much time, it can even be automated; By writing a presentation that is a bit sexy, you will encourage even more reading and the interest that your portal as a whole can arouse.
3. “Backmesh” your site with each publication.
While there has been a significant increase in the practice of internal linking in website optimization, it is regrettable that this internal linking is most often only carried out from new articles to existing pages or papers.
However, it is essential to promote any new article by linking it to the semantics of the set of articles that corresponds to it.
4. Install a pagination that is out of the ordinate
The default pagination of blogs is “Read the previous article” and “Read the next article”
Modify the code of this script to offer the title of the articles instead of these tasteless titles, in addition to the “horizontal linking ” that installs itself, you give yourself a chance to keep your reader if your article titles are, at all, catchy.
For the same reasons and under the same conditions, suggest the reading of articles on the same theme via scripts such as “Articles of the ABCD theme”.
5. Optimize your categories
I wrote a complete article as a guest at miss SEO girl, which I invite you to read.
The main features of an optimized category page.
- Write a unique intro
- Aggregate an original and catchy excerpt
- Present 30 items instead of 10
- Don’t neglect SEO tags
- Don’t multiply categories
- Reclassify the titles of each article to h2 rather than h1 (depending on the theme)
6. Leave comments open and encourage them to use them.
Giving Internet users the opportunity to comment on your publications is a practice that is losing momentum, given the threats that have been hanging over netlinking since 2012 and spamhow , which is also much less frequent, for the same reasons – and the time you have to devote to moderation to keep your pages clean.
However, a substantiated comment is relevant and free content that lengthens the article and brings added value.
It is a direct contact with Internet users who are interested in your business.
This is an opportunity to interact with him (by responding to it).
Naturally, you have to set your rules and moderate the interventions, spam persists… but it is worth it.
7. Implement micro formats.
Whether it’s for the benefit of Google’s understanding of your point, for the knowledge graph or for the rich snippet of the search page, implement the micro-formats shema.org to every opportunity in your articles.
It takes a little more time for the integrator but it will be unavoidable… So get ahead!
Enriched Snippet, Content Relevance,
I recommend at least to implement
- Enterprise
- Address (street, city, postal code, province, country)
- Opening hours
- Nature of the activity
- Business owner
- Sameas (social accounts)
Many others are to be considered, but it will depend on each field of activity.

This last point is quite simple to apply but it is time-consuming, which is why they are often left out by developers.
Conclusion
This list could be enriched with many other tips, such as “keep up to date with the evolution of SEO” because it is a discipline that ages quickly or “follow training regularly” and update your blogs when the references change…
In any case, take charge of your referencing on a daily basis, your traffic will only be better for it.
