{"id":8749,"date":"2017-08-29T22:53:33","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T02:53:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/updated-adwords-ad-rotation-settings\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T16:52:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:52:52","slug":"updated-adwords-ad-rotation-settings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/en\/updated-adwords-ad-rotation-settings\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated Adwords ad rotation settings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You have an AdWords campaign,You<br \/>\n know the ad rotation settings, which determine how your ads participate in the auction in <a href=\"https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/en\/google-patner-certified-adwords-specialist-internet-advertising\/\">AdWords<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This short brief is for you if one or more of the campaigns in your AdWords account use the following settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Optimize for conversions&#8221; or<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Alternate on a regular basis&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting September 25, 2017, Adwords will be making three updates to simplify and improve ad rotation:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6682\" src=\"https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/google-adword.jpg\" alt=\"AdWords\" width=\"604\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/google-adword.jpg 604w, https:\/\/referencement-pme.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/google-adword-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Only two ad rotation settings will remain available:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>The &#8220;Optimize&#8221; option will show the ads that are supposed to perform best in your ad group using Google&#8217;s machine learning technology.<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Rotate indefinitely&#8221; option will allow you to show your ads more regularly for an indefinite period of time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Starting September 25, the &#8220;Optimize for conversions&#8221; and &#8220;Rotate regularly&#8221; settings will be grayed out in the AdWords interface.<\/p>\n<h2>This update will result in the following changes:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Campaigns set to &#8220;Optimize for clicks,&#8221; &#8220;Optimize for conversions,&#8221; or &#8220;Rotate regularly&#8221; will use the simple &#8220;Optimize&#8221; option.<br \/>\nThis will not change campaigns with the &#8220;Rotate indefinitely&#8221; setting.<\/li>\n<li>Campaigns using Smart Bidding will be set to &#8220;Optimize&#8221; regardless of their ad rotation setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ad rotation settings will be available at the ad group level.<\/p>\n<h3>A simple update<\/h3>\n<p>No action on your part is required at this time.
